Master's Degree Programs

MASTER IN ELECTRONIC ENGINEERING: PROFESSIONAL & RESEARCH

The Master's started in the academic year 2006-2007 and offers two specialities: Professional, providing advanced training focused on technological changes within industry, and Research, providing training within a Quality Doctorate Programme. These two specialities correspond to the two research lines that are developed within the Department: `Transducers, Micro and Nanosystems´ and `Instrumentation and Communications Systems.

The Department of Electronics is responsible for most of the teaching involved in the Electronic Engineering: Professional and Research Master's Degree. This Master´s Degree stems from the Electronic Engineering Degree taught at the Faculty of Physics since 1992, and the Quality Doctorate Programme `Microsystems, Sensors and Actuators Engineering´ from the Department of Electronics.

MASTER IN NANOSCIENCE AND NANOTECHNOLOGY

This Master's started in the academic year 2006-2007. Its main goals are achieving the knowledge and control of matter's fundamental structure and behaviour at a nanoscale level, and its use for design and development of new products and systems with a potential incidence on a wide range of areas of particular socioeconomic relevance.

The Department of Electronics collaborates in the teaching of the Nanoscience and Nanotechnology Master's Degree. The Faculty of Physics of the UB coordinates this interuniversity Master's Degree in which several other Faculties, Catalan public Universities and specialised Research Institutions are involved.

MASTER IN BIOMEDICAL ENGINEERING

The Master started in the academic year 2006-2007. The main aim of this Master is providing professional training within the areas of (i) Socio-sanitary product- and service-related activities, regarding their design, manufacturing, evaluation, commercialization, installation and maintenance, as well as formation in the use of medical equipment; and (ii) activities related to research within a certain field of Biomedical Engineering.

The Department of Electronics collaborates in the teaching of the Biomedical Engineering Masters Degree. The Faculty of Physics of the UB coordinates this interuniversity Master's Degree in which several other Faculties, Catalan public Universities and specialised Research Institutions are involved.
